I can't get ethernet. valid ip

I upgraded old desktop and i'm not getting Ethernet. Lan cable is working cuz i use it with laptop. I upgraded lan card driver. I restarted router too. when i use trouble shooting, it says ethernet doesnt have a valid ip config.. what else should i try? or is it lan card problem?

Update your Network Interface card (NIC) driver. Go to your PC's manufature website and download the latest driver for your NIC.

Do you have link lights on the card? Try doing an Ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew command at a DOS prompt.

If that does not work, try opening a DOS prompt windows in elevated mode, and run the
"netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt" command, reboot, see if it works after that.
