[SOLVED] I can't get more then 60Hz on my display

Hello.
I just got a Dell Alienware Aw2518H monitor with 240 Hz refresh rate but i can't get more then 60 Hz on the display.
Im using it on a laptop Msi gl62m 7rdx witch has gtx 1050. Im using a hdmi cable.
Should i use a mini display port - display port cable to get a higher refresh rate??

G-Sync monitors are limited to 60 Hz over HDMI. You need to use DisplayPort. A DP to mDP cable will work.

I got a usb c on laptop using a thunderbolt i think it was the name will work?
usb-c to display port cable.
