I can't have the internet with my netgear router when it is conneted with the modem?

My netgear router does not allow the internet access from my laptop but shows that on the screen, it is properly connected to the modem

Do you get Internet access if you attach your laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable?

Have you set up your router wireless by connecting to the router with a cable and configuring the wireless?

no, I don't have the internet with an ethernet cable from my router but I do have a connection on my laptop directly from my modem. I have already set up my wireless and I used to navigate normally, but the problem occured suddenly and my provider asked me to try a new router but still does not work...Thanks

What model is the Netgear router and what model is the modem?

Obviously the one cable works since you can use it directly from your modem, but check any other cables also by using them to attach to the modem.
