is this a custom or brand name PC?
If custom, what motherboard do you have?
If brand name, what make/model?

I would check if you have latest sound drivers for PC/motherboard, should be able to find a web site that supports PC/motherboard with drivers.

Obvious question: Your speakers are on and work on another PC? Only ask as long time ago I reinstalled windows cause I had no sound just to find speakers weren't on... I learned my lesson then
