I messed up my computer last week and so I'm trying to install linux on my laptop as I accidentally uninstall window 7 when I erased my hard drive. I have Ubuntu on a usb and when plugged in, but when I turn on the laptop, I keep getting PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable and PXE-MOF: Existing Intel boot agent and Insert system disk in drive. How do I fix this? please help thank you. I have a Toshiba Portege z835-p330.

haha yes I need to press f12, I didn't know that I'm not great with computer. I installed successfully btw. :)

Have you went to your BIOS aka setup and made sure the USB was the first boot device?

PXE is the network boot tool that is starting because it cant find an OS on your hard drive, you need to press the f key that it prompts when you turn it on to enter the boot menu, is usually f12, f11, or f9, make sure the usb drive is plugged in, press the power button, and repeatedly pres each of the f keys, if you get the pxe boot screen again, it hasnt worked.

Hi, I figured how to do it as I need to press f12 to actually bring up the set up menu. But does the error message mean that there's something wrong with my computer? I installed linux successfully btw. But I messed up my computer really bad when I uninstalled a bunch of stuff so I'm not sure if that changed the computer in anyway.
