i cant run 144hz

hey i have got a 144hz monitor (AOC G2460PF)but i cant play 144hz
i am trying to set it to 144hz from windows i click 144hz and apply and then i close it and go in agian and it set on 60 hz what is the problem?
(my cable can run 144hz) my computer only detects Generic PnP monitor

Have a look at the cable - does it have two separate squares of pins followed by a line? or does it have a single rectangular block of pins followed by a line?

Does the line have 4 pins around it or not?

Sounds like you are using a single link DVI cable and not a dual link cable which is required for 144Hz. What happens if you use the displayport cable that usually comes with that monitor? What GPU are you using?

Have you upgraded to the windows10 creators update and run a nvidia card by any chance? i had the same issue on my laptop with a 970m, updating to the latest drivers seemed to fix it for me.
Another thing to try is to set in the refresh rate in the nvidia control panel.

if you're running an nvidia card, you have to go into the nvidia control panel and enable the refresh rate. Reply back if this is the case, and I'll go further into depth, otherwise, ignore.
