I cant see my files on after inserting sd card to my computer

My SD card keeps saying "not inserted" (on my phone) but when it is being read after i take it out and put it back in again, i can see all my pictures. When I inserted it into my laptop the file names were there but all the files read empty, how do i fix this? I don't want to lose those photos. Is the card corrupt? I tried to find malware detention but i couldn't find anything on my windows 10

It could be a faulty SD card as you've suggested. However, something else might have corrupted the files and/or partition and thus leading to the issues at hand. You could try retrieving your data via data recovery software: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm. Hopefully you get lucky enough to retrieve all the photos and videos you need. You could also try accessing the SD card via Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if the files are properly recognized, so that you can back them up on your computer.
