i cant switch my WiFi on

i have a pavillion g6 2244sa and ive just had to re install windows 8.1 due to hard drive messing up, the pc is telling me that all drivers including the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adaptor is installed, updated and working but i cannot switch the WiFi on anybody got any ideas as im totally befuddled ... cheers

Try looking for a wireless switch on your computer and make sure that it is turned on. Refer to this list for wireless switches: http://blog.crozland.com/technology/laptop-wifi-switches.php

If you can. Go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings and make sure that the wifi is enabled.
