I can't use mic and speaker at the same time

I have this laptop (Acer Aspire E 14) with only one audio port, my earphones also only has one plug, when I connect it to my laptop I will be given an option for which of the functions I want to use (Line In, Mic in, Headphone, Speaker Out, and Headset), but I can only use one of them, I wanted to use both headphone and mic functions, I have been looking around the internet and I still can't find any solutions to this, I want to know how to use the functions at the same time, if I need an app for it, please provide links to download,

Looks like you need an adapter, 4 ring(male) to 2 x 3 ring (female). https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-headsets-separate-headphone-microphone/dp/B004SP0WAQ something like that.

Why not just get a USB headset ? That would solve your issues, unless you are specifically looking to have sound from speakers for other people around you or something like that. And you can get the ultra cheap logitech ones everywhere, even at walmart or target, they're like $10 around holiday sales, not sure what their non sale prices are.
