I changed ram frequency from 1600 MHz to 3600 MHz and pc don't boot.It is showing a black screen. What should I do?
Clear RTC RAM (2-pin CLRTC)This header allows you to clear the CMOS RTC RAM data of the system setup information such as date, time, and system passwords.
To erase the RTC RAM:
If the steps above do not help, remove the onboard battery and short the two pins again to clear the CMOS RTC RAM...
- Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
- Use a metal object such as a screwdriver to short the two pins.
- Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
- Hold down the <Del> key during the boot process and enter BIOS setup to re-enter data.
I have Asus PRIME A320M-K motherboardYou mean 1600mhz as programs like CPU-z would identify or 1600mhz as rated speed? (DDR ram transfers data twice as much in a given time, hence the confusion).
What motherboard do you have? It may not support 3600mhz memory.
Take out your CMOS battery and put it back in. This will reset the frequencyI have Asus PRIME A320M-K motherboard
If I remove the CMOS baterry and put it back,my friend says the pc will explode if I don't have special wires. Is he right?Take out your CMOS battery and put it back in. This will reset the frequency
No, I took mine out yesterday with my handsIf I remove the CMOS baterry and put it back,my friend says the pc will explode if I don't have special wires. Is he right?
Ok,I have one more question:When i take out the CMOS baterry I need to boot the pc without the baterry or just remove it and put it back? No, I took mine out yesterday with my hands
Ok,thank you!Remove it wait like 20-30mins and put in back in and boot
Still not workingTake out your CMOS battery and put it back in. This will reset the frequency
Try to enter the bios and reset the settings, just to make sure.Still not working
When I turn on the pc it just show me a black screen on the monitor and on my keyboard I can't turn on the caps lock or the num lockTry to enter the bios and reset the settings, just to make sure.
Your motherboard supports up to 2666mhz, or 3200mhz with OC (I assume this is the speed you were running initially).
No logos, just a plain black screen, the light turn up,no beep codeAre there no logos? Just a plain black screen? Does any led light up? Do you get any beep code?
What I meant was to connect the monitor to an output on the motherboard (sorry for the confusion). How can I boot from the motherboard?
So the problem isn't because i changed the ram from 1600 Mhz to 3600Mhz in the BIOS settings? What I meant was to connect the monitor to an output on the motherboard (sorry for the confusion).
