If you're new to PC gaming you should know that the CPU can be as important to game performance as a videocard. Certain games play better with, or even require, a quad core CPU. Other games work well with a dual core. In addition, your dual core is an APU, which is not as fast as gaming CPUs.

So, as long as you keep your expectations reasonable, a videocard upgrade can help you a lot. That computer apparently has a 350W power supply, so I'd stay away from any videocard that requires a 6 or 8 pin pci-ex connector. Of new cards, this leaves the AMD RX 460/560 series or the Nvidia GTX 1050 as good matches for your system. Games like esports games, including Overwatch, should run fine. Games like BF1, GTA V, and PUBG will NOT run fine.
