I don't have a PCI adapter

If you don't need that exact one you could get something like this.

Why do they still use PCI interface? I thought it was outdated and express was the way to go.

 




check out my previous post. those are 3 sound cards that all use the same PCI-E 1.0 x4 slot your mb has.

and they STILL use PCI because sound processing, even at a high end is a very slow and low powered tech. It doesn't need an interface faster then PCI (it probably doesn't need pci either).

There are a lot of things we plug into our computers that don't need a faster interface then PCI... network cards, usb hubs... ect... as a result there is no point to moving everything to a new format when there are literally hundreds of millions of pcs out there with pci slots on their mbs.
