Question I don't know what case I have. Please help!

Hi all,

I cannot for the life of me figure out which PC case I currently use for my main rig. I purchased it a few months back at my local PC parts shop. I already checked inside and out for a sku or part number, under PSU, inside front panel and there is nothing anywhere that denotes a specific case whatsoever. Nothing. Only a made in china stamp and "SSD" stamped into the inside panel. The case itself has a tempered glass side, RGB front panel with LED control button on front I/O, with 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 inputs, as well as reset button. Also has included dust filters. The rear of the case has 7 cutouts for PCI expansion slots. Currently inside the case fits a micro ATX mobo, not sure if it supports full ATX. Also the built in fan controller has 6 pin connectors. Also, I can't figure out how to post pics of it on here, someone please help me out. Here is a list of my current rig, and yes before anyone criticizes it I know it is a very old system. Of course it would be helpful to know what case I have so I can research which parts will fit inside.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965
RAM: 2x 4GB Dual channel DDR3 RAM
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560
CPU cooler : Corsair H60

Also, yes I know i have no filter on top, I know cables look like shit, I honestly don't care because I have a 10 year old system inside, I will be replacing it all soon

That's too bad, considering I paid a lot for this case. around $150. I think I got ripped off

...and when you stop to think about it, a filter on top is a ridiculous proposition, since you'd be exhausting through the top.

Mind you, I'm not saying that it is generic....I just can't find that style in an image or web search.....I'm guessing that you're in the States?

Yes you are correct. I use the top fan as exhaust. And yes, I live in the USA. State of New Hampshire to be exact. If I can't figure out this case I will buy another micro ATX mobo for my new build because i know for sure it will fit. By the way, I would consider this case to be a midtower size

Well, it looks like you can easily do a full-sized ATX in it....you certainly have the slots for it....and you don't have a severe limitation on GPU length, from the look of things....but, yeah, it's a mid-tower.

Just over 17 " tall, between 15 - 16" long, and roughly 6 to 8" wide. I'm glad to hear I can fit a full ATX mobo inside, I agree I should be able to, with 7 cutouts in the rear

I just noticed the IDE connector in there....LOL....yup. It needs to be a home for a new build.

LOL yes it's an ancient mobo. Also ancient processor and GPU. I'm really interested in the new ryzen builds. I could have a nice gaming/ music production rig for a grand or so. I would prefer intel however my wallet certainly wouldn't. I'm pretty sure I'm going to wait for the ryzen 3rd gen launch this summer. I've heard horror stories about AMD customer support but that's a small tradeoff IMO for an affordable rig that kicks ass

Well, in all honesty, I've never had to opt for AMD customer support in all the years I've used them. (1992 feels like the Dark Ages, now.) It's a processor....it either works or it doesn't; and I've never had one that didn't work, so no customer support needed.

And, yeah, in the calculus of dollars for performance yield, AMD does kick some serious booty.

You’ve heard stories and that’s probably what they are. Where I work is an AMD only shop and we’ve never had any problems with any of their hardware support ever. Come to think of it I don’t think we’ve had any hardware failures except for machines that are super old and wear out. I would keep that case and repurpose it
