I'm new to pc building and am about to order my parts: ASUS NVIDIA GTX 1080, AMD Ryzen 7 2700x, Asus ROG STRIX B350-F, 16 gbs ddr4 ram, 500gb m.2 ssd. What PSU should I get/are there any potential issues with compatibility?

Jankerson and bignasty are the two you want to be listening to in this thread. With top-of-the-line parts like that, you can do better than a basic, budget PSU when it comes to protection. The PSUs given by those two are excellent.

SeaSonic and Super Flower are the two most widely recommendable manufacturers of PSUs for brands (they both also sell their own, especially the former). Delta as well (but you see them more in the OEM space) and CWT and Enhance have some PSUs that are excellent, though they're more variable.

Both the Seasonic Focus and EVGA G2/G3 series have been in a lot of sales recently (you can find the 650 EVGA G3 and SeaSonic Focus at $70, which is a terrific deal).

Seasonic Focus Plus 650W
Corsair RMX 650W
EVGA G2 or G3 650W
