I dropped my external hard disk and my laptop can't detect it anymore

Hi guys,

yesterday I dropped my 1 TB buffalo external HDD ministation when it still running. When I connect to my laptop after that, it can't be detected even though the light is blinking and it vibrating. but sometime it making click sound. just one click, after few minutes another click. the clicking sound soft and not repeatedly. If I send my HDD to data recovery specialist will they have chances to recover all my data?
I'm so worried, I've saved more than 500GB in that HDD.

hi, thanks for the reply. I did googled some date recovery company that near to my area. I would be happy if you can suggest more. If I keep it a little longer before I send to data recovery company it will caused more damage to my hard drive?
You said my hard drive have clear symptom of failure, will specialist be able to save all my data even it's damaged?
I know the cost is so damn expensive so I don't want to waste my money for nothing

my friend said I better send my hard drive to the service center. Like my model is Buffalo so I need to ask help from Buffalo Inc. because they no their own product better. It's that true?
One more thing, if the platter of my hard drive scratched they can recover anything is it? even specialist can't do nothing about it?

This same exact thing happened to me last week... I sent it to a recovery clean lab place, which would cost me $1,000 - $2,000, if they could get the data off of it... which was thousands of pictures (2TB's worth) of my kids that I did not have prints of or backed up anywhere else.... They called me today, after they analyzed it, and told me that the platters are scratched, and basically that means that the data has been scratched right off of it!!! Never to be seen again!! This is so devastating... Hope they can get yours back!!!

Hey! yeah sending the hard drive to the data recovery specialist will resolve your problem and you will get back your all the data. As you are telling that your hard drive is no more detected and making some clicking noise so, these are the clear symptoms of physical hard drive failure. If really the data is very important for you then you should immediately consult a data recovery company. If delayed then might be you will lose your data and also son't tamper with your hard drive. Just turn off your laptop and immediately call a data recovery company. If you want i can suggest you some best data recovery company names.
