I finally found the problem

So I had a problem that was lasting days which was when I played games the fps would go form 60 to 10 within 30 to 60 seconds then crash once I got past the main screen and into the game so I was testing some stuff out and found out that if I disabled volume all together then the game would run perfectly but I need volume for films as this problem causes problems when watching films so I presume it's an audio driver problem but I've got all the latest nvidia drivers and tried updating all of the pc drivers in device manager and it says everything is up to date... anyone know what to do?

Obviously update the audio driver.
If it's an onboard chipset, it's usually a realtek.

My drivers already say I have realtek audio downloaded I have sound drivers downloaded from nvidia and also drivers for my motherboard when I update through device manager it says already updated.

Realtek regularly update their drivers, so you could install the one in the link provided.
