So I've been playing AC unity and AC black flag both games occasionally give me lag spikes or hiccups whatever the word for this is. I get from 60 to 57 randomly however it is playable because it doesn't happen every second. Bf4 hardly ever gives me lag spikes and other games as well.
My specs our 16gb ram
Two gtx 980s
I7 4790k
Psu evga 850w G2
Maximus vii mobo
Could it be my hardware or is it just ubisoft? I also use g sync

Solution
Could be a problem with sli support. And both black flag and unity (especially unity) are poorly made, unoptimized pieces of ubisoft garbage and they dont really run well on any setup.

Have you tried disabling one of the cards?

Are the games on a ssd?

What are settings and resolution are you using?

They run well on my setup & they also played well when I had a single 980 however with the Titan x they run a lot better.
I have a Gsync monitor.

If you max out the game with fxaa you should have a good experience with a single card unless you're having issue's with another part such as the CPU...

I have heard txaa causes issues in that game and a lot of other games for that matter. But they are poorly made games, the micro stuttering is what got me i guess some people dont notice it but once you start too see it you cant unsee it, try running sideways while looking forward its awful. And hitching has always been a problem with me in ubisoft games like the assassins creeds and far cry 4.

The games are not poorly made & TXAA is unnecessary... AC4 and unity run perfectly on my system, I use fxaa for unity and 4x msaa for AC4... AC4 had problems in the past with PhysX was enabled however now it's all good! Unity also had bugs initially however the game is much better now.

They are definitely poorly made games that are rushed out WAYY before they are properly optimized. Ubisoft even imposed a review embargo on unity because they knew the game was going to review poorly so they try to sell as many copies as they can before the reviews come out. There was only a year gap between unity, rouge and black flag. So they pushed out 3 games within a year and a half of each other that is ridiculous and the poor quality, glitches, bugs shows why that is a bad thing. I mean look at benchmarks the game cant even stay above a 30fps min at 1440p with a 980 also with a 280x it cant stay above 30fps min at 1080p and that is using fxaa, that is pathetic the game does not look good enough to justify that poor performance.

These days many games have some issues's at launch however they games look good and are fun to play...

I had a Gtx 980 and maxed out mosts settings and used FXAA & I had a good experience with the game even in the beginning however now the game plays even better with all the fixes and driver updates... " The minimum requirement for this game is a 280x and your results are expected...

With the Titax X, I7 4790k @ 4.6 and installed on a ssd both games are super smooth... If I Max out TXAA then I might have some problems but that is unnecessary...

Yah i guess thats how they do it today, release a broken game and then slowly patch it. The games should be well above 60fps with only fxaa, it may run smoothly but even with the patch's but it doesn't run at a very high frame rate and like i said i dont believe the graphical fidelity justifies that. With only fxaa crysis 3 will run a hell of a lot better than 60fps maxed out on a 980 so idk what unity's problem is. There is no justification for why a 280x is the min requirement for gpu, can you name one other game where the min requirement is a 280x? I bet you cant. The fact of the matter is that if ubisoft didn't rush out the game to try to suck every penny out of unity that they can it would be a much better game.

This is what happens usually... When Crysis 3 came out Feb 19 2013 even the $1000 Titan couldn't maintain 60 fps with FXAA...
Settings needed to be lowered for an enjoyable experience...

I'm sure in 2 years the the current flagship will easily max out this game with FXAA and get a Solid 60, My Titan X certainly does...

I would prefer companies release a finished product however I do like the game and graphics...

Perhaps with DX 12 things will get better...
