Hi guys,

I have a monitor that is marketed as 144 hz, and I can also switch to 144 hz both Windows settings, and it also shows in my OSD as well. But, the feeling is like it's just 60 hz.

I tried to go to my gpu app settings but it's also the same, it's showing as 144 hz, but the freesync range reported by my monitor is just 48 - 63 hz.

I have updated everything as my pc is just newly built. It is just this monitor that is old. This is a chinese brand monitor named HELSXT 27" 144hz gaming monitor. It was manufactured 2017.

The question that I have is, does this monitor has a defective display, or do I need to do something to feel my desired refresh rate?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I have updated everything as my pc is just newly built.
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

The question that I have is, does this monitor has a defective display, or do I need to do something to feel my desired refresh rate?
Have you tried hooking up the monitor to another platform that is known to do 144Hz?

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
CPU cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth
Motherboard: MSI B450M-A PRO II
Ram: Team Group Vulcan Z Gray 16 gb 8x2 3200 mhz
SSD/HDD: Team Group 512 GB NVMe
GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6600 8GB
PSU: Corsair CX650
Chassis: MSI MAG FORGE M100A
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Monitor: HELXST 27" 144 hz gaming monitor

Everything is brand new except for the monitor.
The BIOS version can't do this yet as Im not at home, but Im sure it's in the latest as it's the shop who built it for me.

Check different ports only 1 port may only be able to do 144 e.g display port the hdmi may only be 60

There are 3 ports, 2 hdmis and 1 display port. I already tested both hdmis, but, its the same. I can choose, the 144 hz on both windows settings and OSD, but the the feeling is the same. Its 144 hz but its feels 60 hz.

I have trained eyes btw, i can see the difference of the refresh rates.

And im also sure that there is something wrong, as the freesync range report as per my AMD App is just 48 to 63 hz only even it is set on 144 fps
