Hello, I have this old game that was made in the early 2000's known as Hover Ace. Every time i press ok in a certain dialogue box the game will freeze and crash. Specifically it is the dialogue box saying i have reached tech level 3. Does anybody know how to fix this?

What OS are you running? You should be able to run the game in compatibility mode. Find the executable (.exe) and right click on it and select Properties. In the Properties window select the Compatibility tab. From there check the box for Run this program in Compatibility mode for: , then select Windows 98.

My other guess is that some file that the game is writing to is either write protected, or for whatever reason the account doesn't have permission to write to. I went through a similar problem with Crysis in Windows 7. Every time I tried to change my graphics setting the game crashed to the desktop.

I would try going into the game directory and make sure you have full permissions on all the files. Also check to be sure they aren't write protected.

sadly it did not work but here is the crash report
