as seen in the picture below, i have a WD 2TB Green hard drive, which appears in the system but doesn't have anything on it literally. i have a feeling this drive might be dead because my uncle said it was flooded along with his pc, but all his other ssd/hdd have survived. also i dont think its dead because on the hardrive itself it has 2 lights on it, one blue and one orange, whatever that means. Any support is grately appreciated 😀 thanks for reading. http://
Only rarely do dead drives appear in disk management. I would do two things. First open an elevated command prompt, right click and run as admin. Then type:
diskpart
list disk
select disk n (where n is the 2TB drive if it shows up -- if not, close the command prompt window)
clean
exit
If it then shows up in disk management as an uninitialized drive, you can initialize and format it.
The other thing you can do is to download the WD test utilities from HERE and run the tests on the drive.
