when i power up i get one long beep then three short then just the fans nothing to the monitor

Hi Ed,

The Beep Code, 1 long, 3 short, refers to the Video Card. Either it's not seated properly, the power cables aren't connect per specs, or it's defective.

The best way to test it out, is to try a different video card in the slot. Can be any card, even an older PCI card in a PCI slot if your MB has one, will work for testing.

Could also try your present video card in the second PCI-e slot to rule out a bad adapter slot. Or just remove it, reseat it, make sure it's evenly pushed down back to front and the back plate lines up OK.

The fact there's nothing on the monitor, and it won't proceed to boot all fits.
