hello I have this problem with a windows 2008 server
currently, the server has 5 users and is a DNS and file server but we have a problem with the file part
we connected a Windows 10 and a Windows 7 PC that should have access to 2 folders which is called "(S:) alles mappe" and then we have "\\srv1\home\%username%" but both folders are only visible on the windows 7 and not 10 which only has "(S:) alles mappe" what could cause this ?

Solution
remove all inherited permissions, convert them and assign permissions:
right lick, properties -> security ->advanced -> disable inheritance -> convert all inherited permissions -> remove all user except for administrators group -> add -> set principal -> %username% -> grant permissions (you can just select all options except for special and full control) -> click OK -> click OK -> click OK.

you need to have administrative permissions to make these changes

hope this helps
What is visible from windows 10 pc , when you point to \\srv1\home\ ?

all the user folders are visible and useable but user 1 has access to user 1,2,3,4,5's folder that way

on the windows 7 machine, I only have access to the user folder I login to and the folder (S:)"alles folder"

on windows 10 i have to manually find and the user folders and when i eventually find them i access to all user folders with one account that is supposed to only have access to it's own

not at the current time sadly... are the anyway you could describe what i could do ? or link me to something explaining it ?
