I have a tablet problem

I have an ASUS TF201 tablet that died on me. I sent the tablet back to ASUS for repair and they wanted $300 to repair it because it was out of warranty. For that price I could get a new one. They said that it was motherboard problem and it needed to be replaced. Someone I know has an ASUS Memo pad FHD10 but it has a cracked screen. The motherboard is good but the touchscreen doesn’t work because of the cracked screen.
My question is can I use my tablet which the touch screen works but has a bad board to repair or make a new tablet or something that works?

Not sure that it would work but it is definitely worth a try. There is no way I would pay $300 for the repair. A new one is a bit more but you get the full warranty and any upgrades made since yours first came out.
