i have a wireless router in basement and 4 people useing signel is that too many and is that why it is not giving everyone con

I am letting 4 other people tap into my wireless router via their wireless network adapter on their laptops. The router is always having to be reset. Is having that many people on my router disrupting my connection? How can I fix this,, and can I add another router somewhere else in the house to improve this so everyone can use it?

The times I have had that problem I solved it by getting a better router. Also placement may be an issue. How many floors are in your house and how far away from the router are the other computers?
