i played AAA games and many more like far cry 5 , ESO and the witcher which have many files but i never had on high rez over 60 c ,but i just bought an Early Access Alpha game called Holdfast:nations at war which have 150 player in a server. my cpu temp went to 70 c and my gpu is on 65-67 c using a Custom Fan Curve. why ? also when my room is cold i get about 65 c cpu temp and 55-60 gpu temp. why do i have better TEMP on AAA games but not on alpha games which dont have many files to download or any high end game mechanics ? and i searched everywhere and no one ever talked about temps are high on alpha games , people just care about FPS being low on alpha and forget about temps

70 degrees isnt terrible, definitely not thermal throttling. Maybe the game is more cpu intensive thus resulting in higher temps.

Is this the only "Alpha" game that you experience this temp rise? I mean, there is nothing common to ALL "Alpha" games that would make them run hotter.

Several possibilities:
-you're just noticing the temp increase more for some reason. Do some repeatable test runs on the other games you mention, log the results (like with AIDA64 or some other logging program). It may be happening in other games, you just didn't notice for whatever reason.

-this particular Alpha game is very heavily CPU bound. Some games run the CPU more than others, does NOT just depend on textures and other "files"

-because it is Alpha, it may not be optimized very well, thus causing a heavier load than it needs to, this may improve over time.

trust me right now i played eso and my cpu and gpu temps werent above 55c even far cry didnt reach 60. and This alpha game is the only alpha game i bought recently. the other games are just optimized or AAA, btw how do you know if this game is cpu extensive ?

Well, one way to tell is if the CPU gets hotter than it does with other games... 😉

But ya, if this is the only game you've experienced this high CPU temp (and if you have the data from logs to back that up), then it's a problem with the game, not necessarily your rig.

The easiest way is if you have dual screens. You run Task Manager on your non main screen and watch it from there. Assassins Creed Origins is a game that I notice heavy CPU usage.
