Hey guys, yeah I know I know. Pubg is unoptimized.

I have: Fx 6350 @ 3.9
8gb ddr3 @ 1600mhz
and RX 480 8gb

My screen res is 1600x900 and I have 30-50 fps everytime everywhere. Sometime goes 60+
Friends with common system playing better than me.

I have the latest drivers of my RX

Settings:

Very Low

Solution

Overclocking wont help him that much he will still struggle to stay above 40 fps, A I5 2400 matched with a 1050ti pulls better FPS in PUBG than any FX chip which is just sad. This should give you a idea of how heavy unbalanced the optimization is, RYZEN chips fair better but they still pull way lower FPS than what you would expect. The best he can do is adjust the settings and find a medium where it stays above 30fps as much as possible.
I would try setting this launch command line in steam for the game to try to get best possible usage of your cores.

-malloc=system -force-feature-level-11-0 -sm4

in the image below you will see I have a mem statement don't use that as I have 32 GB of ram and you don't

Your cpu is bottlenecking your gpu.
From what i've seen, pubg runs better with nvidia cards and intel architecture. Though rx 480 is an AMAZING gpu, its full potential is being held back by your fx processor.

Don't even think about upgrading your ram since it won't boost your performance.

I would save for an upgrade of platform. Go with a ryzen or coffee lake chip.

I will try this right now. Thank you

Agreed, cpu is holding back the gpu. For the time being I highly suggest overclocking the cpu if your motherboard and cpu cooling allow. Free extra fps to hold you over till you can afford a new processor.

Even overclocked a FX 6350 is 30% or more slower than a i5 7500 in PUBG which is also the lowest recommended CPU for Medium settings to hold 60fps. You will need to run mix settings if you want to stay above 50 fps.

You should read this and start with what is suggested and expect to lower it a bit from there, its a bit old "Early Access" and they have improved performance a bit since then.

I see some difference. Anything else?

as far as trying to help your system cope with the demand of the program that is all I can suggest, short of telling you to get a faster cpu and double your ram amount. the cpu could be upgraded but without the motherboard information I cannot make a suggestion at this time, nor even knowing if you have a budget to perform upgrades on your ageing system, sorry.

Maybe. Still, overclocking will help SOME, even if that's not a lot. Its hard to tell exactly how much better it would be since I can't find any direct comparisons, however, it cannot be worse, and it could be better. Its also a free 'fix'.
