I accidentally added the into Firefox's built in dictionary, and since it a very common typo for me, I desperately need to delete that so it will warn me again every time I do it. I checked where Firefox stores dictionary entries, except that it doesn't seem to be the case for me. I don't have a persdict.dat file anywhere on my computer. I did a search on my entire C drive and nothing came up. Is there some new place that maybe has changed since any of those websites that I saw posted the articles about the persdict file? And to be clear, I have turned on "View Hidden Files", so it can't be that.

are you on latest version, it may have changed as they made a new version thats all new recently

I am on 89.0.2
Did you tried this?

Microsoft Windows users
  1. Click Start, Run, and type: %APPDATA% and press Enter.
  2. In the Application Data window, open the Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles folder.
  3. In the Profiles folder, there should be a "xxxxxxxx.default" folder, where "xxxxxxxx" could be something such as "yicjwewa". Open this folder.
  4. Right-click the persdict.dat file and select the Open with option.
  5. Select a program from the list to open the file. We recommend selecting Notepad or WordPad as the program to open the file. If you have another text editor, this can also be used.
  6. Locate the misspelled word and delete it. Make sure to also to delete the line it was on and don't leave an empty line.

I looked but since i have never added a word, I don't have a persdict.dat in that folder either.

Is there something else that it could be then? I never purposely added a word. but last night when I hate the and it caught it, my mouse hand twitched a bit just as I was releasing the button, putting the cursor on add to dictionary. so now it doesn't highlight the if I type it. But still no persdict.dat.
