I have to do a system restore every time I boot

Hi
Every time I boot into windows I get past the boot screen and then it goes black and nothing happens. I've found the only way past this is doing a system restore and it's getting really annoying, seen as a restore takes about 15 - 20 minutes. Can someone please tell me how to fix this or at least what the problem is.

If anyone is wondering I have a custom built PC with Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Intel i5 running at 3.9GHz, 16Gb of RAM, Nvidia GTX 650 TI, 500GB WD Caviar Black (boot + apps), 2TB WD Caviar Green (storage) and a 1TB Caviar Black (scratch + steam)

Something is hosed up in your Windows install.

If it were me, I'd either go back to an earlier restore point, or just reinstall the whole thing.

I'll try the earlier restore point and if that doesn't work I'll do a reinstall.
