Question I installed a new CPU and..

Hey! I was wondering if I could get some help, I installed a new cpu for my pc, and l've noticed that while playing rainbow it would drop frames every 20 seconds or so massively, when that happens my EDC(cpu) spikes up, i was hoping I could get some help on this. It functions fine and everything just for that one issue it does kinda lag doing Normal stuff like moving windows or stuff like that. im suspecting that its just the game but i want to be sure that if it is something preventable that i can prevent


Specs:

Motherboard: ASRock A520M AC

CPU(just upgraded): AMD Ryzen 5 3600 -> AMD Ryzen 7 5800x

Graphics: GeForce RTX 4060 gigabyte 8gb

Ram: 16GB [8GB × 2] DDR4-3000MHZ ADATA XPG GAMMIX D10

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Just an FYI;

the VRM on that board is very lackluster, to the pint I would've avoided dropping a Ryzen 500 series onto that board.

Try and aim a fan at the VRM area of the board and see if the your FPS don't tank.
I turned the fans up to keep everything cool, i checked my chipsets, updated them, and my BIOS is up to date, the problem still persist, What would you recommend i upgrade if needed.
