Reinstall your graphics drivers, and Windows will replace them. It should appear as 'Generic PNP Monitor' in device manager.

it says Generic PnP monitor on device manager but it still says SB230 (HDMI) monitor on my GPU drivers. Is that normal or is that problematic.

That's normal.

so is all the contents from the driver removed or is there some remaining? Is this a SB230 1.0 drivers a firmware update?

They're gone. It's just:
-Windows has it own drivers installed at this point. When it does it marks pretty much all monitors as Generic PNP Monitor.
-NVCP is simply able to acquire the monitor's specs for ID directly, it does not install drivers for it.
