Help! I just upgraded my motherboard and cpu from some crapy amd motherboard (I don't have the model cause I'm not home) and my old and a6-3600 to a msi h81m-p33 and i5-4690k. After installing the board and cpu and all my other components I go to plug it in and run it but when I press the power button nothing happens, no lights flicker no fans spin, nothing. I've checked my wiring multiple times with images and I'm 90% sure it's all in right. I have the wire coming from the front panel plugged into the jfp-1 slot but it seems to not activate power.

If anyone could please help, I'm on my way to work for a couple hours and I'd love to come home and fix my computer and get some gaming done.

If anyone needs pictures or other specifics I'll get them as soon as I get home

Ultra LSP series PSUs are horrible for having issues. They're basically Tier 5 (Replace immediately) PSUs even though they're not currently anywhere on the Tier list. (And I don't know why when TigerDirect sells so many of them and then you all end up here with them.) That doesn't necessarily mean that's your problem, but it certainly could be. I'd either return the unit for a refund or RMA it. Preferably return as you don't really want another one. Then get something that's Tier 3 or higher from this list:

The problem really sounds more like maybe something is connected wrong though or an issue with the motherboard. Double and triple check your front panel...
Ok so I finally got the thing to power up, Yay a step in the right direction. Then I had to set up the bios using the disc that came with the board, and my computer was prompting me to do so by pressing f1 or f2 on the keyboard, problem was the keyboard didn't work. I tried multiple keyboards USB and ps/2 and none worked. After a few extra tries I began to get the message "over charge detected in USB. System shutting down to protect mainboard. Shutdown in 15 seconds" I've unplugged every single USB and the front panel USBs and I still get this error. Please help!!

Now I removed one stick of ram and got it to display the press f1 to enter setup. But.... I didn't have a keyboard plugged in so I plugged in a USB keyboard to see if it'll work and now we're back to square one :/ now I get the same error message with or without the USB plugged in

I've decided to go back to my old motherboard and cpu since they work. I will be returning my motherboard to Newegg and getting a replacement one. And hopefully that board will cooperate. Thank you for your help so far. I will most likely let you know if my new board doesn't work when I get it.

The problem really sounds more like maybe something is connected wrong though or an issue with the motherboard. Double and triple check your front panel connections and make sure you have the correct connector plugged into the 4 or 8 pin CPU power socket on the MB and not the 6+2 or 8 pin PCI plug. It's possible you could have gotten the GPU and CPU motherboard connectors backwards.
