Question I know nothing about cameras

Looking for a camera, could be a small digital or DSLR that’s simple to use for taking on holiday etc and will be better than my iPhone. ATM I’m looking at a Sony compact digital one (link below), but wondering if anyone more knowledgable can help because I don’t actually know what’s good, what I’d need to buy an extra lens for and what’s overpriced.

The Sony DSCWX350 is fine for you need, can't change lenses so you don't need extra etc.

About 200-250. Though lower is better. Would like a good all rounder, just for me and my lads to take on holidays/trips.

In that range that sony point and shoot is going to be a solid choice.
A cheap DSLR will run you 400 or so, its certainly a step up in terms of lens choice and overall quality, but its almost double the price.

They take good photos also, better than most.

I figured that would be good as he doesn't have the time to LEARN a DSLR anyway.

And even a low end DSLR would be out of his range, even on sale as it turns out.

Sony DSCWX350 Digital Compact Camera is quite good but I'd also suggest Canon PowerShot SX730 HS. A nicely capable camera for those who just want a point and shoot compact with a long focal length zoom range. It's good for trips and costs not more than 200$.
