5800x3d is overkill for your current gpu, get a better gpu and stick with 1440p 144hz as I think it requires same gpu power as 1080p 240hz so its a useless change. If you really only want nvidia get a 3090 or a 3090ti, last gen have better value especially if you get a used gpu. Btw AMD gpus are relatively faster in CoD than Nvidia, a 7900xtx is faster than a 4090 in MW2, especially at resolutions below 4K.
What about 4070 non ti I do video editing digital art for fun bso I want to stick with nvidia and 3090's cost more than the 4070

Photoshop, Adobe light room, illustrator sony Vegas ,I do not like amd I know there's amd fans and nvidia fans im the latter.
I'm not a fan of either (it's not a team sport after all), I just get what gives me the most for my money. Being a fan doesn't do you any good because none of these companies care about you. Of course, you're free to choose whatever you like, I don't mean to say otherwise, I'm just trying to help and it never hurts to have options.

Oh I know I just follow a lot of testers that do amd/intel/nvidia etc etc stuff and not one of them recommends an amd over Nvidia, my first gpu was an amd and i had nothing but issues, amd isn't hardware acceleration friendly, I've not had one issue with nvidia besides fps drops in games , I have seen incredible benchmarks from the new amd cards, if i just played games I'd be fine with it but i do more than that and i dont want to risk having issues like alot of others have with the video editing, design etc

That’s funny because the reputable testers are all saying get the 6700xt over the 4060

I don't know who you follow but they're definitely not the elite testers like Tom's Hardware, TechPowerUp, TechSpot/Hardware Unboxed or Gamers Nexus. There are a lot of charlatans (aka "Influencers") out there posing as "Tech Experts" whose "opinions" are for sale to the highest bidder. LoserBenchmark is a perfect example of this.

I think that before you make your decision, you should watch this video by Vex:

And this is what a REAL tech expert, Steve Walton of Hardware Unboxed, says about the RTX 4060 Ti compared to the RX 6700 XT:
I guarantee you that whoever you've been following doesn't hold a candle to this guy.

Even one of the biggest nVidia fanboys on YouTube, Jayz2Cents, is having a negative reaction to nVidia:

Oh I won't get a 4060 its like 5 fps over my 3060ti the only viable upgrade nvidia wise would be the 4070 I cant afford the ti version ,as far as gaming they would recommend that but I do more than gaming
For the price of a 4070, you should instead get a 6950xt for $569, more vram and better performance.

12 GB is not enough for today’s games and a lot of non-gaming applications benefit from 16+ GB of vram. I’d recommend getting the $705 20 GB 7900xt, it’s 38% faster than the 4070, has 66% more ram, and performs well in non-gaming applications with its AI cores (tensor). AMD drivers have been rock solid for a while now so no need to worry.
