Hmmm, interesting. Ideally I would prefere a 20ms panel as I gathered they have better color and are as good as the 16ms in terms of ghosting and stuff. Has anyone seen/reviewed this viewsonic.
Re the samsung, will it be out soon in Europe ? Any reviews or previews ?
During my own research I haven't found anything better than the 25ms Samsung 172T. It has superb picture quality. Its ghosting issues should not really be too distracting for most purposes - in fact, for most purposes its not a problem at all. Unfortuntely, it doesn't pivot. I think the LCD we all need still doesn't exist! Although I agree with you - 20ms is really the fastest that should be looked for currently if picture quality is required. I haven't even found that. My recommendation is the Samsung 172T.
Don't get the Viewsonic, really stay away from it, it's simply a big piece of crap. Screen sucks in gaming and certain colors in Windows are also messed up, the OSD is pretty poor and color management is a pain. I'd say get a Hercules but those don't have a pivot option...
Is it a bad thing if there is smoke coming out of my case?
so far, I can't find what I want, so I am left with two options:
- Hercules 920Pro DVI (that is not out yet and does not have pivot)
- Samsung's new 16ms... when it is out and I work out which model will be sold where...
So not so lucky!
Someone can tell me what Samsung is doing with their monitors. I have heard about 172x and 173p.
Both supposed to be 16ms but that's about all I know for sure. If the 173 is what I read somewhere, then it is exactly what I want... feel free to help 8(
Hello, I just posted a thread on the 173P and 172x, should have use this one ....
From what I got the 173P is PVA technology (samsung kind of MVA) whereas the 172x is TN+ film (classical one).
So the 173P should have better colors and viewing angles but less speed.
I know the 173P is listed at 16ms like the 172x at some places, but at others at 25ms (especially germans sites), also the case in this pdf (in french but tables):
