Hi guys, my mouse just broke down. I need a mouse that's under 80, comfortable for claw grip, have some buttons, but DPI doesn't matter to me. Cheers!
I was looking at the DA, the G502 or the M65, but I'm not sure.
Get the G502, it has an absolutely flawless sensor. It will provide you with better performance than the DA or the M65, and it has a decent amount of extra buttons. As long as your hands aren't really small, you can claw it. http://www.overclock.net/t/1481639/logitech-g502-proteus-core-gaming-mouse-review-by-ino you can find some good in depth stuff about the G502 on this thread
If you do get the deathadder be sure to get the black edition, as it has the best performance of all the DA mice.
I would not recommend the m65 as it is a laser mouse and it will have a poor sensor.
Like ssddx said, a zowie is good if you claw, and the zowie mice all have fantastic sensors and they are well built.
i personally own a DA and its not really ideal for a typical claw grip. it works out very well if you grip it with your thumb and ring finger along its bottom edge and sort of half-palm half-hang your palm over the back of it which would be considered between a fingertip and palm grip. overall a comfortable mouse to use but not really what i would consider a claw grip mouse.
i recently just tried out the g502 and it would work out as a nice semi-palm mouse. the buttons on the side are in a good place and the shape was good however my hands hurt from using it since it was not wide enough for me and my ring and pinky finger ended up curling down along the side of the mouse due to that. i suppose you could try claw gripping it however i do not think the design would work nearly as well if you did.
the m65 would probably be able to be claw gripped, however the big red button on the side may interfere with the optimal claw gripping spot on the side. it would however work good for agrip style like mine.
if you use a full claw grip style... you might enjoy a mouse such as the roccat kone (or other roccat models), logitech g5, sensei, zowie fk1, absysus or perhaps the cm spawn.
generally mice with lots of buttons on the side work better with palm type grips while mice with only a few buttons on the side and large gripping surfaces work best for fingertip.

to be completely honest here... i have used both mice and i did not notice any discernable improvment with the g502 over my old 3.5g deathadder. both were more than accurate enough for gaming. the only reason i tried the 502 is since my deathadder is down right now since i need to replace the microswitches due to how much i used it. its a $2 fix but i need to order in the parts.
being laser based and having acceleration also does not strike a product completely from any recommendation lists. i have personally used a wireless laser mouse for competitive fps gaming for 6 years and was consistantly in the top 10-20% in matches i played. laser does have some annoyances such as acceleration and how it tracks still if you pick it up however it worked fine. i prefer optical instead but its workable. i would just be aware of the potential issues before you decide on a laser mouse and buy it from a place you can return it to if you do.

That's a good point, if you aren't too picky about your sensors laser vs optical really isn't gonna make a difference. You can be good with any mouse, it's all about picking one that works for you. Although I really don't think you should buy a wireless mouse for gaming, they have latency issues, they take batteries, and they're usually overpriced. I'm way too picky about my sensors, so don't think that the DA or the M45 will be bad, they will perform quite well.
actually... you would be rather suprised when it comes to wireless mice as it is not as bad as you would think.
for years i used the mx1000 laser mouse with rf wireless which has a non-replaceable battery and it would hold a charge for a good 7 hours and had zero discernable latency as far as i could tell. it did automatically shut off after like 10 seconds of disuse and took about a half second to wake so that was a bit inconvenient however not really a huge issue.
my laptop wireless mouse the m505 i've been using for over a year now and daily for long periods of time and it is still on the original batteries. while i am not playing many games with it (since its small and hard to use for games while i get the parts ready for my deathadder fix) i have played a few and really have not noticed any lag considering it is bluetooth.
i would agree that wired is better of course, however i think wireless gets a little too much negative hype from people who really havent used it. i've used both so can form a rather different opinion.
The zowie fk1 is THE claw grip gaming mouse, with the 3310 , an excellent sensor next to the g502's , huano micro switches suitable for fps. Plus it's getting a lot of praise from the cs go community

Yep, the 3310 is awesome and the fk1 is perfect for claw, the switches are really nice, and it's a light mouse. Can't go wrong with the fk1

From the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm, my hand's 18cm. Is that big enough for the G502?
I'll have a look at the FK1.
Yep, that's long enough for the g502. Like I said, unless you have super small hands the g502 is not a bad shape. It's an especially good shape for people with thin hands and fingers because of it's ratio of length/width. The FK1 is similar to the microsoft intellimouse optical shape, if you have ever had that mouse. It really fits any hand and any grip, so long as your hands aren't absurdly small or absurdly large.
i would have to agree with the ms intellimouse... for such a basic mouse that thing sure was comfortable! its not really a gaming mouse though and only had so-so performance. if i didnt already have a deathadder i might have been looking at the FK1

The intellimouse optical 1.1 and intellimouse explorer 3.0 and wheel mouse optical all had amazing performance with shooters, as the sensor is still the most accurate on the market (the MLT04 sensor which may be rivaled by the g502's pixart 3366 sensor, but I'm not sure). The downside is that it is set at 400dpi and it cannot be changed, although that is high enough for any shooter, and it's malfunction speed is a bit low, around 1.6m/s if it's overclocked to 500/1000hz. If you play anything other than shooters you don't want an intellimouse or wheel mouse optical, but if you play shooters exclusively, almost nothing comes close to it in performance. If you can pick up one of those babies for a good price DO IT. You won't regret it. It feels like an extension of your body, there's really nothing that can describe it.
There's a reason so many people used to and still use those mice for shooters
With all that being said, if you're pretty casual, the IMO, IME and WMO aren't gonna do much for you
