I have a PC I built up using ASUS mobo. I replaced my SB live 5.1
sound card with a Audigy2 NX (external USB) sound module, as it was a
cheap way to upgrade to 24-bit sound. What I didn't consider is that
this external sound module has no joystick/midi port. Well, I now have
an external Roland midi synth, which needs a midi connection to the
PC. I looked on the ASUS mobo, and found a joyst/midi connection
(called GAME1) and got a connector for the back of the PC connected to
this. I went into the BIOS and enabled game port on address 330.
However, the port is still inop. It dawned on me that since the Audigy
2 NX software didn't include any game/midi driver since it has no such
connector, that my added-on game port still doesn't work because there
is no joyst/midi driver running in Windows XP. So is there some
driver for this I can get? Or is there no option but to buy a PCI
24-bit sound card, which would have the joyst/midi conn and drivers?
