The GTX980m will definitely give you an edge into gaming for the next few years and so will the CPU

This is a great laptop, but IMO it's overkill. Like what would you do with all that RAM? If you're not doing any heavy video rendering/editing/streaming then why would you pay for something you won't even use?

Heres a cheaper alternative I Found I guess
still has the OP GTX980M (Which again will last you a long time)
i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz-3.5GHz

Lasting time depends on how you use the laptop if you hardcore game nonstop for hours everyday you will find your laptop usage alot shorter (Recommend a Desktop at that point lol)

If you game maybe a few hours a week then you will obviously find your laptop life alot longer

CyberpowerPC still has GTX980M
I might recommend this one the most since it has all the same parts as the MSI without the steel series keyboard but it does have a back-lit keyboard made by CyberPower not sure if thats worth an extra $400 to you

I didnt know your budget but yes that is a very good laptop
I dont know if your talking about the GTX970M SLI or GTX980M SLI but both are very Over powered and beat their desktop counterparts (Not desktop SLI, lol)
So if your budget allows for it, I'd say go for it!

Alright, i'll look into the titan SLI.

Now I can do college work and have the power of a desktop all in one .
