Hello Everyone,

Looking to buy a new machine while staying within my budget. I would like to spend no more than $1,000 (taxes in+shipped). Haven't followed PC prices at all in the past 3 years since I bought my last machine.

I think I would like to stick with newegg.ca and ncix.ca since I am from Canada and had good experiences with them in the past.

If anyone could help, I would be greatly appreciative. Look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

Jay

Should add my intended usage. Won't be anything to demanding. I don't plan on playing any high end games. I more or less just want the best bang for my buck. Thanks

Edit: Also, it needs Windows 8 and at least the Pro version.

Sorry about the original price. Adapt storage to meet your budget, either a 1tb hdd and 60 gb ssd, 3 tb drive and no sdd, or 128gb ssd and no hdd. Then you'll meet the budget.

An SSD is faster but obviously has less storage, a HDD has more storage at the cost of speed.

You should likely wait six weeks or so for some new product.

i3 Haswell should start popping up around Sept1 --- FM2+ motherboards for the Kaveri APUs should arrive before that.

I would suggest an FM2+ motherboard, some DDR3 2133MHz, an SSD, along with a 65w Trinity/Richland APU to suit your tastes ...

That would give you an upgrade path to Kaveri in a year or so.
