I have a Samsung NP300VA laptop with a BA92-08469B motherboard. I am trying to find a cpu that I can use in the motherboard, but every time i try to google to try and find it, all I'm finding is where to buy a motherboard, not the cpu that is supposed to go in it. I've tried searching for cpus that will fit that model number, I've tried searching for cpus that fit socket rPGA989, but that shows me the same places to buy the motherboard also. I'm trying to get the fastest cpu that will fit in that board, because I'm trying to fix this for a friend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Just because the cpu is the same socket doesn't mean it's compatible. You can try to contact samsung and see if they would give a cpu support list but usually with laptops you just have to try it and hope the upgrade works. It should be socket g2. Other NP300VA models came with a i7-2670QM so that should work. Higher cpus could have power and heat issues since the laptop wasn't designed for higher. Since it's sandy bridge, I wouldn't try an ivy bridge cpu. Laptops most likely don't get a bios update to support newer gen.
