Alrighty i have an old acer EL1352
i upgraded the ram to 8gb and added a new psu 450w and replaced its old case with a bigger one so i can fit my r7 240 in... And it worked !!! i was soo exited so i ran some games and see how its doing ,
i played cod 4 mw and the game ran at a butter smooth 89 fps with all settings maxed out, but when i tried to play minecraft the game ran at 26 fps and sometimes dips to 10 i dont know why ?
but my guess is that my cpu is holding back my gpu, can anyone reccomend me a cheap am3 cpu that wont bottleneck my r7 240 ?????

i updated the gpu drivers

it still not working 🙁

is there a driver for the cpu ??? if there is can u tell me the link plz

its an acer emachine EL1352 i searched it in acer's webpage but it says "no results founded" ??? i bought it like 3 years ago did they stop making the chipset driver or something ?

The emachine website has no drivers available for your desktop.

This might be the most you can get out of this old desktop. You can find a better AM3 chip to put in it, however, there is no guarantee that it will run because the BIOS is usually locked in these old premade desktops. If the BIOS does not recognize the new chip, then it won't run.

Last thing you can check is to see if your new is compatible by using memtest86. It can be complicated so make sure you watch some tutorials.

Since you already have GPU and new ram (as long as they are DDR3 1600 or better), then I would recommend that you build a new computer.

I don't know your budget but as a reference, take a look, (these are US prices)

You can later overclock this cpu if you'd like and even up the graphics too.
