I need another SATA port for a new SSD.

Hello, my Hero 7 Motherboard has four SATA ports, but they are all occupied (2 optical drives, 1 HDD, 1 SSD). I've come across SATA expansion cards, but with prices ranging from $30 - $200 for the same number of ports, I have no idea what to look for with them.

Do you really need the DVD optical drive ??
You could buy a 2 port SATA PCIe expansion card which are about £8-£10 on ebay.

They have 2 internal SATA OR 2 external eSata ports and set the onboard jumpers to which ever you want to use but you cant use all 4 at once.

You could certainly replace an optical drive with an external USB optical (if/when needed) for $40 or so, freeing an internal SATA port....
