I need help upgrading

So i have a fx-6300 and a 750ti none overclocked and is slacking on rust yes it is not a optimized game but what will i need to change the cpu or the gpu? People say the fx-6300 is bad many say it is good if i was going to change any componet what could i change it to?

to me it would seem that upgrading your 750ti would be a better option as the recommended requirements for the game Rust is to have a GTX 980 and instantly that says the me that a GPU upgrade would be more beneficial in this instance. As for the CPU the recommended requirements for the game is actually 3ghz and if the fx-6300 is at stock or overclocked it surpasses the requirements already.
