i need help with my old Oculus CV1. It's been siting in my barn for years but i cleaned it like it was brand new.

I plugged everything in, it said everything was working, the head set tracking and controls and sensors all worked but there is just a black screen.

I can see the orange light come on and go off if you cover it. I've got an NVIDIA RTX 3050 on Windows 11.

i bought a DP to HDMI adapter because the card only has 1 HDMI port and 3 display adapters.

Anyways it could be the headset or it could be the cord that's all mangled up from years of twisting maybe if i buy a new oculus headset cord i could get it working?
Geforce Experience says NVIDIA RTX 3050 doesn't support VR, it says GTX 970 or higher. but i got the small RTX 3050 'cos I have a have a tiny PC.

All i really want to do is use the Oculus CV1 controllers without the headset some way some how really will these programs work? auto_oculus_touch_v0.1.7 vJoy AutoHotkey_2.0.17?

Two things:

1) "i need help with my old Oculus CV1. It's been siting in my barn for years but i cleaned it like it was brand new."

If the Oculus was exposed to the elements especially heat/cold/humidity then there could be problems other than just the physical dirt and grime you cleaned off. Cable twists and kinks may or may not be a problem.

2) "All i really want to do is use the Oculus CV1 controllers without the headset some way some how really will these programs work? auto_oculus_touch_v0.1.7 vJoy AutoHotkey_2.0.17?"

As I understand your post just using or repurposing the controllers is likely to require some coding.

Google words and phrases such as "How to program oculus cv1 controllers reddit".

Take a look at the search results then revise the search criteria as necessary to narrow down more to the specifics regarding how you would like to use (reuse) the Oculus CV1 controllers.

And add some details to your post regarding the plan and requirements to reuse the controllers.

= = = =

Lastly:

"Geforce Experience says NVIDIA RTX 3050 doesn't support VR, it says GTX 970 or higher. but i got the small RTX 3050 'cos I have a have a tiny PC."

Not sure about the full meaning - can you add some specific details to explain.

Under geforce settings it says "does not meet the recommended spec for virtual reality" then it says: "desktop gtx 970 or higher". i don't get it. I have an rtx 3050 which is way higher then a gtx 970.

Take a closer look at the recommended specs for virtual reality.

Search/Google words and phrasing such as "recommended GPU specs for VR".

After reading etc. revise the search criteria as necessary to match your computer environment and specs.

Here is a link (not a product recommendation or endorsement) listing reasons regarding GPUs for VR.

https://pimax.com/blogs/blogs/best-...orce,while still having fantastic performance.

There are other similar links to be found - look for links applicable to your components and VR requirements.
