Okay so I'm in a disaster zone right now with my PC. It started when I had a VAC error on steam and couldn't fix it. Tried everything, running cmd in admin and entering the commands regarding bcdedit on the link for steam support down below. I received a message when entering the commands into command prompt. "the boot configuration data store could not be opened access is denied". I looked up some solutions for this and it said to run cmd in admin, which I was already doing. I say a program recommended to me that allowed me to reset the boot options and for a stupid reason I accidentally deleted my boot options. Now my PC refuses to start past the bios and I get error 0xc0000001 "An unexpected error has occurred". I can't get into the BIOS because it freezes when I enter it as a result on an overclock I had on the CPU or at least that's what I think is causing it. I need a way to fully reset everything back to the way it was when the PC was brand new. Once I've fixed this also I would like to request help in resolving the stupid VAC error that constantly disconnects me from counter strike matches and gets me a 7 day ban. I appreciate the help and as the title of the post entails, I am desperate. Please help 🙁

I had this problem a couple of days ago, i cant really remember what i did, i put some commands into the CMD, i verified my integrity of game cache for CS:GO and then i restarted my PC and it worked, i kept getting this error everytime i would go into a game on CS:GO but somehow what i said above fixed it.

I will do that to try it once I get my PC back up and running. Is there a way I can completely reset my BIOS without actually entering it? It's frozen and I can't do anything inside of it.

Ahah, yes i know, i have really bad download speed so games take for ever to download on steam, if i have helped at all then please select best answer for one of my replies, if i haven't then you don't have to :)

Thank you :) I will select the one about fixing the VAC error, that's the root cause of all of this so hopefully it will work, it's an intermittent error however so i won't know for sure for a while. Cheers :)

Not a problem, all i can remember for fixing the vac issue if it is the same error your getting as what i did, i just searched online and used the solutions that people said, some of them didn't work, but once i restarted and verified, and then tried again it some how worked, i hope it works for you, if not just search online and you should get a fix

Also don't forget to pick best solution, as it does help out other players which have the same issue:)

Okay, quick update for anyone still reading this. I reinstalled windows a 2nd time and this time removed advanced system care 8, start menu 8 and windows defender and all anti virus. The VAC error SEEMS to be fixed but it is an intermittent fault so I won't know for sure until a few more weeks have passed and I've had the opportunity to make an accurate judgement on this fix. Thanks.
