[SOLVED] I need help with my PC

Good day. So I seem to have a bit of a mobo problem I got myself into. I purchased a MSI B75a-ie35 identical to the b75a-e33 they share the same manual. I think the ie35 is the Chinese model or something. Anyways long story short I got shafted.

At first I couldn’t get it to turn on. Played around with PSUs, tried different cmos batts nothing. Jumped the power supply to force it on now it turns on and off like it should. Then when in the bios it only stays on for a random amount of time then restarts.

CPU fan is on full. Bios cpu temp is 35c but it says mainboard temp is 128c. I did manage to get windows 10 installed. It seems to be fine when in an os. Fan speed is still full but it doesn’t shut down. Only seems to do it in the bios. I’m scared to try and update the bios with it shutting down like that. I have no idea where to go from here.

Im sure the mobo is screwed I just wanna know if it’s repairable since I over payed for this thing already. This build was just suppose to be for basic pc use and streaming.. so very cheap. Any help on what to look at or try would be greatly appreciated.

I’m sure it’s 128c. It’s not though obviously that’s just what it reads. The psu I just a 300w from a prebuilt. I’ve tried swapping it with no effect. I have a box full. They all worked with my test board.

No you need at least a 450W PSU. That PSU is way underpowered for your setup.
Should add it tried clearing cmos and breadboarding. Also removed gpu and using the integrated graphics. The cpu was out of a working system so I’m sure it’s fine.

Are you sure it's 128`c? Because that would mean that it's 262'F. 53'C would mean that it would be about 128'F. Which is higher than normal, and that could be solved with an aftermarket cooler like a Hyper 212 or equivalent.

The restarts though, are usually either attributed to your motherboard or your power supply. Clearing the CMOS battery wouldn't do anything to fix that. What is the make and model of your PSU?

Well I will try to find a different psu I guess and see if that makes a difference. I’m trying to be super cheap with this build lol. My gaming rig almost cost a marriage.. haha

Just to be clear this is just suppose to be a basic use rig. My rig I did not cheap out on. So now I’m 100% sure it’s not a power supply issue. I used the one from my rig which I did not want to do. It’s a month old hx1000 so there is no issues with power. Still the same thing it posts. Sometimes I can get into bios or it restarts randomly. Same temps in bios. I think it’s a bios issue myself.

I’ve also tried different ram sticks. Almost booted into windows once. Had it boot into Linux once from usb stick and it seemed to work fine. Also ran long enough to do an install of windows 10 onto a hdd. I seriously have no idea what is going on. I’m thinking grab a ch341a clip from amazon and try to reflash the bios. Not sure if that is a waste tho.
