Question i need more ram, but dont know if i can use the ram i have in a computer with a virus

i just built a new PC, but im a little sparce on ram, i have an old computer that had a virus on it that has 8 gigs of ram but im not sure if the virus affected it, or if it would affect my new computer

RAM is volatile memory, it only maintains data so long as it has power.
Once the system is off/unplugged/RAM removed, its wiped clean.
