I need some help getting my pc build up an running

Mb-Asrock z77 extreme4
Ram-gskill ddr3-2400
power supply - nzxt 850w
cpu-corei7-3770k
hd- 1TB SSHD Bare Drive
I also bought a asus maximus v formula mb that's doing pretty much the same thing this mother board is doing it won't boot into the bios an keeps restarting. I had the system up an running on the maximus V formula but i put a portable hd on the computer an in all the sudden wouldn't even boot into the bios. Justrestart over an over.

random restarts especially ones that happen in the bios usually point to a few usually suspects.
1. Check the motherboard standoffs. Make sure you have them where they are needed and that any extras are removed.

2. Check the RAM. Try with only 1 stick, make sure to you test with every stick of RAM.

3. The fact that you have tested and failed with two motherboards makes a faulty PSU the most likely culprit. You'll have to test with a different PSU to verify.

I tried a different power supply unit from my last build an it still keeps restarting so i didn't think it isthe psu.

Also it never gets into the bios or displays anything on the screen the maximus V formula mb was having a red led by the vga
