So I have i5 8600k CPU, MSI Z370 A-Pro Motherboard and 16gb 2400MHz.

Now I am considering upgrading my RAM but want to know what i will need to change to do so.
My CPU states that it only supports up to 2666MHz
Motherboard can support 4000+ Overclocked.
So I want to know if I install 3200MHz RAM will it even be able to run at that speed because my CPU only supports up to 2666MHz?
So initially my CPU is limiting me to 2666MHz speed?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Officially the fastest RAM that can be put into the 8600K is 2666MHz RAM. However, since you have a K series CPU, it supports RAM overclocking. What this means is that assuming your CPU's memory controller is good enough, you can run 3200MHz RAM via XMP.

Okay so it is possible. Thank you.
Is it recommended though? Let's say this is your system, would you do that or would you rather upgrade the Motherboard and CPU?

I would try running it on the XMP 3200MHz. That isn't a very high RAM OC so you should be fine. If it doesn't work, you can always disable XMP and run at slower speeds or upgrade since you already have the faster RAM.
