Hey im new to this and was wondering if anybody can teach me or give me a good setup to OC my comp,
i have turbo-v but have no clue how to use it.

Here's the specs of my comp just in case:

Intel® Core™ i7 960 Processor (4x 3.20GHz/8MB L3 Cache)

Asetek Liquid CPU Cooling System w/ 120mm Radiator

6 GB [2 GB X3] DDR3-1333 Triple Memory Module

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 – 1GB

Asus P6T SE -- Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire Supported

700 Watt -- Power Supply

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

In my mind, it kind of spits in the face of the spirit of overclocking to put together a $1000+ system and then try to tweak out 10% more performance, that other than in number, you'll never notice. Take a challenge and buy $300 worth of parts and get $1000+ performance out of them. You know?

And besides that , spending that much money on parts just to turn around and risk their survival is just wasteful. But, not to worry, I'm sure mommy will buy you a new CPU when it frys.

Easy there overshocked ... we get this all the time ... it comes with the turf. Since our Stickies are so poorly marked, most newcomers don't even realize that they're there! 🙁

kidd_koopa,

Please read overshocked's Sticky at the top of the Overclocking > Intel Forum: Core i7 Overclocking Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum-29-347.html
