So I have this really crappy laptop in my home, and it is way to slow to even run windows 7, so I want to install "peppermint OS" on it using a program called "rufus". Now the question is, when doing it with rufus, it says that it will "destroy" my usb...what does that mean? does it mean that it's just going to delete all current data in there or is it going to make it UNUSABLE? like that is the only usb I have and i dont want it destroyed. i just wanna install peppermint os on it and after the os in on the laptop i will delete all the things in the usb so that I can use it for other purposes like general data storage...and btw I have also heard that rufus destroyed many people's usb, how do i prevent myself from destroying it?

Solution
Yes, but it will make it unusable for regular copy and paste and data sharing
Last time I checked, it was still fat32 (but not sure if it was Rufus or some other prgram used).

But it shouldn't be a problem anyway, since you can re-format the drive to make it usable again.
